Internships and Study Trips

ISD believes that designers-in-training must have contact with other institutional, managerial, creative, and design environments, in order to expand their professional perspectives. For this reason, you will be able to apply for admission to exchange programs and study trips to cities that are key to the designer sensibility.

Through these kinds of initiatives, you could visit and have contact with design experiences and applied models in cities such as: New York, Milan, Rome, Barcelona, Brasília, Paris, London, Lisbon, Smyrna, Istanbul, Lausanne, Eindhoven, Florence, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, Mexico, D.F., and Sao Paulo, among others.

Agreements

In order to maximize and reach the greatest share of resources for our students, ISD has established alliances with public and private organizations at both the local and international levels. For instance, we will develop equivalent courses of study and diversify contents through our alliances with other higher education institutions—a crucial stepping stone to easing and supporting student and teacher exchange participants’ experiences and to developing joint programs in various areas of design. Most of all, our efforts are aimed at making the most out of each institution’s strengths in order to bring you the best education possible.

At the same time, these alliances strengthen the ISD’s internationalization process and encourage the technological and productive development of Puerto Rico’s industries.

As part of the goal of making the field of design truly competitive in Puerto Rico, ISD works to launch projects that will ensure training for our human resources aimed at productive development. The objective is to leverage the emergence of small and medium-sized businesses, as a response to globalization.
