ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR MASTER OF SCIENCE

The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science with a grade point average of no less than 2.75, or have taken the required courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and ecology or environmental science. Must also complete an admissions application and send it with a copy of credit transcripts, three letters of recommendation and the results of the GRE or EXADEP admissions exam. Once the requirements are completed, the student will be interviewed by the Graduate Committee and also provide written answers to various environmental questions.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR MASTER'S IN PLANNING

Applicants for the Master’s in Planning must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in science with an academic index of no less than 2.75 from an accredited university.

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in any other discipline with an academic index of no less than 2.75 from an accredited university and have taken the following courses: Mathematics (8), Biology (8), Chemistry (8), Physics (8) and Environmental Science (3).

  • Have introductory level knowledge of Computers (3), Economics (3), Sociology (6) and Statistics (3).

If the applicant has not taken the required undergraduate courses, UMET will provide the opportunity.

For non-resident foreign students that comply with the admission requirements, SEA will approve admissions on the condition that the following undergraduate courses are taken as a special student:

  • Cultural Elements of Puerto Rico (HUMA 204).

  • Political Systems of Puerto Rico (POSC 253).

  • Economy of Puerto Rico (ECON 300).
