Master of Science in Environmental Management with a specialty in Environmental Risk Evaluation and Management

The specialty in Environmental Risk Evaluation and Management prepares students to identify, evaluate, and manage toxicological, occupational, and ecological risks. The focus is on the uncertainty and limitations that exist in risk calculation estimates. Hypothetical situations are analyzed related to the dispersion of contaminants into the ground, water, and air, along with exposure to humans, chemical interactions with the environment, and the biological processes by which microorganisms act in the remediation of contaminated areas. Consideration is also given to needs related to the administration of environmental control systems, environmental monitoring, compliance with environmental laws and regulations, and industrial bioremediation.
