We would also like to take this opportunity to share with you Universidad del Este's recent accomplishments regarding the International School of Tourism and Hospitality Management (ISTHM) with the Partners for Excellence in Hospitality Education Capital Campaign.

August 2008- Obtained $100,000 donation from William and Alice Marriott Foundation, geared towards the Permanent Scholarship Fund.

August 2007- Obtained a $25,000 donation from Sams Club Puerto Rico, geared towards the partial payment of faculty scholarship towards doctoral studies.

January 2007 - Obtained the Summit Star Award, from the Business Initiative Directions in New York, USA.

August 2006 - Obtained a $50,000 donation from William and Alice Marriott Foundation, geared towards the Permanent Scholarship Fund.

Obtained a $50,000 donation fromKCS Cleaning Services, geared towards the Permanent Scholarship Fund.

March 2005 - Obtained the International Royal Crown Award, from the Business Initiative Directions in London, England.

January 2004 - Obtained the International Quality Star Award, from the Business Initiative Directions in Madrid, Spain.

Obtained a $20,000 donation from Hilton International, geared towards the Caribe Hilton San Juan Permanent Scholarship Fund.

Started an Annual Fund effort selling twenty-three chairs, out of fifty of the Demonstration Kitchen at the International School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, collecting $23,000, which will support scholarships, internships and Faculty Education.

February 2004- Obtain a $100,000 commitment from Empresas Santana to establish the José A. "Tony"Santana Permanent Scholarship Fund for Hotel Management and Tourism students.

March 2004 - Sign a partnership agreement with the Bacardí Corporation for a donation of $60,000 to sponsor the first Naming Opportunity, of our Fundraising effort: Bacardí Corporation Bartending Laboratory at the International School of Tourism and Hospitality Management.

 Received the first payment $10,000 of $50,000 from the Intercontinental San Juan Permanent Scholarship Fund, for Hotel Management and Tourism Students.

Sign agreements with the Puerto Rico Hotel Tourism Association and the Tourism Company for educational trainings for the industry.

April 2004 - Sign an agreement with the San Ignacio de Loyola University in Peru, for Faculty and student exchange.

May 2004 - Three ISTHM Faculty Members were chosen as part of the Culinary Team of Puerto Rico and will represent the Island locally and internationally.
