Tampa, Florida - Following the vision of raising the educational level of Hispanics in the United States, Dr. Joseph F. Mendez, president of the University System Ana G. Méndez (SUAGM), announced the opening of a new campus in the city of Tampa, Florida. The SUAGM comes to Tampa Bay to offer the first and only bilingual accelerated and higher education in the United States.

Named as Tampa Bay Campus, this new center will initially offer baccalaureate degrees (bachelor) and master (post degree) in the form of accelerated and bilingual studies registered in the United States under the name "Discipline-Based Dual Language Immersion Model ®."

This is the third university based on SUAGM set in Florida where he also has the Metro Orlando Campus and the South Florida Campus. "We have a genuine commitment to serve the needs of Hispanics and prepare highly qualified professionals with full command of English and Spanish, as required by private companies and government agencies," said Mendez.

The activity was attended by Mr. Santiago Corrada, representing the mayor of the city of Tampa, Tony Morejon, officer in charge of Hispanic affairs of the Board of Commissioners of Hillsborough County, Digna Alvarez, representing State Senator Florida, Bill Nelson, as well as representatives of various community organizations and executives SUAGM.

The SUAGM has been a leader in Puerto Rico in providing accelerated study programs for adults (known as the NOW program), which was developed in conjunction with Regis University in Colorado. The program now gives you the opportunity to validate all students college credit in the United States and Latin America, and validate foreign titles for you to complete your degree rapidly.
