The Ana G. Mendez University System (AGMUS) salutes NAFSA members participating in the 2012 Annual BiRegional Conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

AGMUS is the second largest private university system in Puerto Rico, and the fastest growing university system in the Island, with a combined total enrollment of over 36,000 undergraduate and graduate level students. The System was founded upon the pioneering groundwork of Prof. Ana G. Méndez, who in 1949 created Puerto Rico′s first two-year higher education institution, the Puerto Rico Junior College.

Today AGMUS is comprised of three fully accredited higher education institutions (Universidad del Turabo, Universidad del Este, and Universidad Metropolitana), and the Center for Telecommunications and Distance Education (CETED), which includes the only Interactive Television Service in Puerto Rico, and the only private PBS-sponsored educational television stations in the island (WMTJ-Channel 40 and WQTS-Channel 26). The University system also has 13 branch campuses throughout Puerto Rico and four additional campuses in the United States (Orlando, Miami Metro, Tampa and Maryland).

As part of its internationalization initiatives, AGMUS has created 3 Vice Chancelleries for International Affairs which are responsible for overseeing the internationalization efforts and for facilitating and developing alliances and collaborative projects with other institutions around the world.

We would like to extend a special invitation to all the conference participants to visit our universities and to contact our Vice Chancellors for International Affairs to receive more detailed information:
