The mission of the Assistant Vice-presidency for Sponsored Programs (AVPSP) is to support faculty members and administrators in the search and administration of external funds of the Ana G. Mendez University System (AGMUS). AVPSP provides services in sponsored programs that attend the needs of AGMUS' units, in which you can find instructions, student's services, faculty development and research.

To carry on with our mission, our office execute the following functions:

  • Provide orientation to institutional officers on non-fisical grant related activities such as: proposal development, grants management, identification of funding opportunities and preparation of reports.

  • Articulate efforts among the institutions and with Central Administration.

  • Offer training sessions to faculty and administrators on grant writing, institutional policies, federal regulations, and identification of funding sources.

  • Disseminate information of funding opportunities and regulations governing grant activities to Assistant Vice-chancellors and other institution officials.

  • Maintain bank of grants submitted to external funding sources.

  • Prepare reports to institutional officers.

  • Revision of existing policies related to grant activities, as well as, the development of new policies.

  • Provide support and assistance to the Assistant Vice-chancellors for Sponsored Programs and the Assistant Vice-president for Financial Management.

  • Management of InfoEd / SPINPlus.
